More on Micah
May 26, 2007What Micah wants for his birthday:
“I want a new Mommy. One with buttons, so you can push them and get what you want. Like you push one, and say, okay, now get me some ice cream. And then you push one, and you bring me flowers. And there would be a button to push so you could have Curious George movies.”
Yep, that’s my boy. SO, if any of you can deliver this kind of a Mommy, his birthday is July 17th.
Oh Micah

May 25, 2007My Dad….
May 24, 2007I was just thinking about how much I adore my Dad.
It is funny, we have very different views on things, very different beliefs, don’t even talk all that often, but the older I get, the more I feel like I revert back to that adoration a little girl has for her Daddy. Maybe it is because the older I become, the more I respect who he is, because I understand more, what it takes to be a man of integrity, honestly, and valor. Maybe it is because I watch my own husband, and realize what an impact Dad’s can have. Or maybe it is because, as I age, I am becoming more accepting of my own feelings. Whatever the reason, Dad, if you are reading this, I not only love you, I adore you.
This is my Dad, in Seattle, with my nephew last week.
Two things…
May 24, 20071. My eldest daughter, who HATES to run, rides horses so they can run for her, had her 5th grade track meet today. She took FIRST place in all three events. No more excuses for her!
2. Today, Micah was talking about what HE wanted to be when he grows up. He said, “Mommy, when I grow up, I want to be JUST like you…. REALLY BIG just like you. (Hmmm.)
Confession Tuesday
May 22, 2007Today we are opting for something a little different in hopes of getting MORE participation (Jody, I think even you can do this one).
What I wanted to be when I grew up……
I wanted to be a jockey. A horse jockey that is. Problem was by third grade I was already too tall. I had this whole plan on how I would be the first jockey over five foot four to win the Kentucky Derby.
A busy week ahead
May 21, 2007I had to share this picture, Isaiah’s coach training up the next generation of ball players!
Let’s see, tonight, who would have guessed, MORE baseball! We are playing in East Moline, at 5:45pm, so it will be a late night! Tomorrow Micah has to bring birthday treats to preschool, and the thought of making yet another batch of cupcakes makes me sick. Wednesday night, we are at the barn for Emily, Thursday, more baseball, and cheerleading, Micah’s last day of preschool, and finally, Friday, and a long weekend! I think the aquatic center opens this weekend too, my kids can’t wait.
