Central

April 13, 2007

Today my eldest daughter is touring the school which she will be attending in the fall. No parents were allowed to go on the tour with the kids, they wanted the kids to feel free to ask whatever they wanted, and be able to connect to the school.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME???

Okay, in all honesty, I was not about to go with her, but the fact that I COULDN’T go was the real issue. And since when did the public school that I pay for exclude people, even if it was meant for the kids.

I don’t know, like I said, I wouldn’t have gone anyway. Emily is completely ready for the whole middle school thing, as ready as any girl can be. She still tells me everything, at least she says she does …

SO, I am sure it went fine, and I will hear about it in a couple of hours….

However, I am not handling this “guess what, you really have no control over your kid anymore” thing to well.

No spring, and less of a break

April 11, 2007

Well, we all survived the week with fourteen people, ten of which were under 12. No big fights, the Easter bunny still came, we had plenty of food……

BUT…..

There was the strep throat that the two visiting adults had, not to mention the four year old puking machine, the two year old eye goo queen, two pre-teen girls, and a few in between.
No joke, I think I washed at least five loads of vomit soaked towels, six blankets, and a few pillows.

On a more positive note, it didn’t even matter if I cooked, because most people couldn’t swallow, or they threw it up right afterwards!

It is a good thing we are all family. :)

—and a side note, we got a suburban, it is beautiful, i love it, and it seats nine.

Confessions III

April 11, 2007

I know it should technically be confessions part 4, but more on that later…

confession of the day:

Once someone tried to give me money, when I was sitting on a street corner in downtown Seattle. Apparently I looked homeless.
