Car Troubles

By amysmith

Well, the van is on it’s last leg.

Seven years and 155,ooo miles. Windows are broken, heater only works on level 5, cd player is broken, and it has been puked in more times than I care to recount.

I wanted to make it easy on us, let’s just get a new model of the SAME van, only with the 8 seat configuration, instead of 7, I said. Right. Nothing is easy. They don’t make the 8 seat configuration any more, because they don’t make that van anymore. What’s worse, they don’t make any with the 8 seat configuration any more.

I am trying to resist the move to SUV, but it is not going well. It looks like a suburban is more than likely in our future.

uh oh…guess that happens when you make the transition to FIVE children!! :) good luck in your car quest. i’m not sure i’d wear my STOP GLOBAL WARMING jacket while driving my suburban!!

talk about gas guzzling! why not 7 seats?
also MY van only has 77,000 miles on it and it’s the same year! Where have you been driving??? oh yeah – to Iowa!

enough with the global warming, i was trying to share, but, i don’t want to argue, I might meet you sometime on a dirt road, and apparently I’d better watch out- i hear they want women for the Ultimate Fighter :)
And as far as gas guzzling, the new burbs get 15 city and 21 highway, compared to mine, at 17 citiy and 22 highway. Not that big of a difference!

SUV’s last a LONG time. Too long sometimes. Mine has 211,000 miles and E has replaced lots of stuff but it’s up and running and my CD player even works (but the mirrors are broken, one door doesn’t open from the inside, one door no longer has power window controls and…). It has been a great investment. :)

I would always choose SUVs too. They last longer and perfect for family’s roadtrips. Got no regrets with it though it’s normal that we replaced some worn parts like nissan floor liners which was just install. It’s all in the matter on how you maintain your vehicle.
